How to Send Crypto
Sending crypto from Pays Wallet is quick and straightforward. You can send to any wallet address or to a saved contact.
Sending Crypto Step by Step
- Go to the Wallet tab and tap Send.
- Choose the token you want to send from your asset list.
- Enter the recipient's wallet address — you can type it, paste it, or scan a QR code using the camera icon.
- Enter the amount you want to send (in tokens or in your local currency equivalent).
- Review the transaction details on the confirmation screen — recipient address, amount, network fee, and network.
- Tap Confirm to send.
Sending to Contacts
If you've saved contacts in your address book, you can select them directly instead of typing an address:
- On the send screen, tap a contact from your recent or saved list.
- Their address will be pre-filled.
- Continue with the amount and confirmation as usual.
QR Code Scanner
Tap the camera/scan icon on the send screen to open the QR code scanner. Point your camera at the recipient's QR code and the address will be filled in automatically. This is the safest way to avoid typos.
Batch Transfers (Multisender)
Need to send to multiple people at once? Pays Wallet has a Multisender feature:
- From the Wallet tab, navigate to the Multisender option.
- Add multiple recipient addresses and amounts.
- Review and confirm the batch transaction.
This is great for paying multiple people in one go.
Network Fees
Every send transaction requires a small fee paid to the network, often called gas. The network fee is shown on the confirmation screen before you send. On Layer 2 networks like Base and Arbitrum, network fees are typically just a few cents.
Transaction Status
After sending, you'll see the transaction in your Activity feed. It will show as "Pending" until confirmed on the network, then update to "Confirmed." Most transactions on L2 networks confirm within seconds.
Important Tips
- Double-check the address. Crypto transactions are irreversible. Always verify the recipient address before confirming.
- You can't send to yourself. The app will prevent you from sending to your own address.
- Make sure you have enough for network fees. You need a small amount of ETH (or the native gas token) in addition to whatever you're sending.
Troubleshooting
- "Insufficient balance" error. Make sure you have enough of the token you're sending, plus enough ETH/gas token to cover the network fee.
- Transaction stuck on pending. Network congestion can occasionally cause delays. Most L2 transactions confirm quickly, but during peak times it may take a few minutes.
- Wrong address. Unfortunately, if you send to the wrong address, the transaction can't be reversed. Always double-check before confirming.
